Everyday progress

Independence is built in ordinary moments.

Planning a meal. Catching a train. Speaking up at an appointment. Trying a new activity. We make space for people to do more for themselves, with support close by when it is useful.

Who we support

A considered fit matters

Our service may suit adults with enduring mental health needs who are stepping down from acute or long-stay services, or who benefit from a shared setting rather than isolated single-tenancy accommodation.

Every referral is considered carefully, including needs, risks, preferences, compatibility and the environment most likely to support a sustainable move.

Our support aims to help people:

Sustain a safe and settled tenancy

Recognise and manage changes in wellbeing

Build practical confidence and life skills

Reduce isolation and grow community links

Avoid preventable crises and hospital admissions

Move towards greater independence where possible

A different resident supported by Sleapcross House

I am happy living at Sleapcross House. Since I came, I have learnt daily life skills like cooking and cleaning. I can also travel on the bus to St Albans on my own. I’m much more independent now.
